27.11.2024: HELLENIC HALYVOURGIA AT THE REAL GROUP’s 1st INDUSTRY SUMMIT 2024
The 1st Industry Summit 2024 of REAL Group was of great interest to the industrial sector.
The Minister of Economy and Finance Mr. Kostis Hatzidakis, the Minister of Development Mr. Takis Theodorikakos, the Minister of Labour and Social Security Ms. Niki Kerameos, the Minister of Health Mr. Adonis Georgiades, the President of SEV Mr. Spyros Theodoropoulos, government officials and executives of the domestic industry, all spoke at this Summit.
HELLENIC HALYVOURGIA was also present at the Conference, represented by the General Business Manager of the company, Mr. Kostas Saridakis, who, among other things, referred to the important developmental role that the steel industry plays in the construction sector and in society. Regarding the industry, as a whole, he noted that there has been an improvement in recent years but nevertheless, he said, an important and key issue is where we place the industry within a broader production model. “We don’t have an industrial culture, and it needs a greater effort in this area,” he said.
Mr. Saridakis also spoke about the importance of the circular economy and synergies for the prospects of the sector, while also mentioning that there are problems to the supply chain, citing several examples and stressing that: “The interconnection of all points in the supply chain today has great room for improvement”.
In the same discussion on energy costs, the Recovery Fund, the financing of industrial investment projects and the next steps, Mr. Dimitris Theocharis, President of the EBIXE Association, described the energy costs as unbearable, especially for energy-intensive industries, sounding the alarm.
For his part, the President and CEO of Revival Consulting Services S.A., Mr. George Antipas, noted that Greek industry needs support to be able to stand healthy and start new investments. Regarding the challenges facing the industry, he mentioned that energy is the industry’s first concern and said, “we expect moves in this direction”.
