GREENSTEEL CEDALION COMMODITIES S.A. plays a vital role in environmental protection and recycling by focusing on the recycling of industrial by-products and waste, particularly from steel mill production processes.

Located in the industrial area of Volos in Velestino, Magnesia, the company fully utilizes the quantities of slag generated by the electric furnaces and rolling mills of Hellenic Halyvourgia S.A., as well as other wastes. Through mechanical processing it produces certified aggregates, mainly for road construction (Non-slip aggregates – base materials – sub-bases), but also for backfilling, as well as secondary raw materials for the production of clinker in the cement industry. In addition, ferrous scrap is produced, which is a valuable raw material for steel mills.

GREENSTEEL CEDALION COMMODITIES S.A. has managed more than 1,300,000 tons of by-products and waste, making a decisive contribution to the circular economy, since these are reused as alternative raw materials in other sectors of the economy, such as road construction, the cement industry and the steel industry. In this way, the principles of industrial symbiosis are also fulfilled, since the residues of industrial processes are converted into useful raw materials, thus conserving natural resources.
